The Ridder Historical and Local History Museum studies the region’s history, nature, and culture, ensures the preservation of historical and cultural values, and provides accessible cultural services. The museum is located at 11 Nezavisimosti, Ridder. Its total area is 411 sq.m, including 277 sq.m of exhibition space, 74 sq.m of office space, and 60 sq.m of storage.
The museum’s staff consists of 11.5 positions, with 7 specialists currently employed. Its collections contain over 33,800 items, including archaeological, ethnographic, and paleontological collections, as well as photographic documents. Scientific work is carried out in five main areas: natural sciences, archaeology, ethnography, history, and the protection of historical and cultural heritage.
The museum actively participates in regional, national, and international projects. In 2013, a museum specialist won first place in the national competition “Best Tour Guide of the Year.”
